Binding Taster Workshop

This short class is aimed to introduce you to some of the basic tools and techniques used in bookbinding. In two hours we will fold, laminate, trim and complete a flutter book. We will talk about tools and other types of binding. It is a chance for you to ask questions and investigate this wonderful craft. The class is held at Westridge Craft Studio in Highclere on Friday 31st January from 7.30pm until 9.30pm. This studio is accessed by a flight of stairs.

At the end of the workshop, you will take home your own unique book and a set of instructions so that you can make other books at home. You may purchase any of the tools that you have used during the day.

This workshop is designed for over 14’s, although any under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult, that adult does not have to take part or buy a space but cannot bring other children.

We will be using sharp knives, and will need to apply firm pressure with both hands, if your coordination or grip is weak then I would advise a private 1:1 lesson where I can take the time to help find a working solution for your needs. Drop me an email to discuss.
